Applying for a Police Certificate

Only individuals who are required to submit a Police Certificate by a foreign public authority, such as a  foreign embassy or an immigration bureau, are eligible to apply. Applications from others cannot be   accepted.

◎　You may apply at the Nagano Prefectural Police Headquarters if you are:

①　A registered resident of Nagano Prefecture 
②　Not a registered resident of Japan, but your last registered residence was in Nagano Prefecture
    If you are not a registered resident of Nagano Prefecture, or your last registered residence was not in Nagano Prefecture, please contact your local police headquarters.

◎　Please note:

    You must apply in person.
    We do not accept applications by proxy, as we will need to take applicants’ fingerprints.

◎　Applying from overseas:

　　You may apply from overseas through your nearest Japanese embassy or consulate. Please contact your

　  　Japanese embassy or consulate for more details.
   　 If you are applying from overseas, you may not submit the same application again in Japan.
