You parked your car on a slope without using the hand brake in case it froze,since a handbrake can freeze with low temperatures. The car starts to move and a pedestrian is crushed.

  • The car was parked on a slope.
  • The car was parked without using the hand brake.
  • You did not put the car in gear.

3 How to avoid accidents

  • Park your car on flat ground.
  • When you do not use a hand brake,put the car in first or reverse gear.
  • For automatic transmission cars put in parking gear when you leave.
  • Do not park on a slope, at a curve or an intersection.
