2 What did you do wrong?

  • You did not re-inspect the chains.
  • You put too much confidence in the effect of the chains.
  • You did not use the bands for the chains.

3 How to avoid accidents

  • Put the chains on the tires in a safe place.
  • Use appropriate chains for your tires.
  • Use the hooks and the bands for chains for increased reliability.
  • Check the fitting of the chains frequently to see they are not loose.
  • Drive slowly-less than 40km/h.
  • Do not put too much confidence in the effect of the chains, and drive carefully.

*Although it may seem troublesome to fit the bands for large-sized vehicles and trucks, it is worth taking the time.
